The objective of analyzing setting is to find out the relation between the story and the setting.
To find the relation, we have to find out ht efunction of the setting in a story.
In general, there are three function of setting:
1. As the background.
2. As the reinforcing the theme
3. As the antagonist
1. As the background
No significant relation between the story and the setting
If the setting changed, there’s no significant effect to the whole story
2. As the reinforcing the theme
The setting and the story have close relation. Actually, the story has something to do with the setting.
If the setting changed, there will be significant effect to the whole story.
3. As the antagonist
The conflict is external conflict; Man vs nature.
